JAC Gives Back: Community Service Day Focused on Hygiene and Personal Care

The Jamaican American Connection (JAC) proudly continues its commitment to community empowerment and youth support through our latest Community Service Day, focused on providing essential hygiene and personal care items to local schools across New Haven.

This meaningful initiative was born out of JAC’s dedication to ensuring that students have access to the basic items they need to feel confident, cared for, and ready to learn. Good hygiene is essential to both health and self-esteem, and we believe that every student deserves to thrive in a clean and supportive environment.

We are thrilled to share that JAC successfully donated to five New Haven schools, including:

  • Clinton Avenue School

  • Wilbur Cross High School

  • Wexler Grant School

  • Lincoln Bassett School

  • Hillhouse High School

In total, our team delivered:

  • 460 boxes of Kleenex

  • 144 bottles of hand sanitizer

  • 48 containers of Lysol wipes

  • 1,088 sanitary pads

  • 2 packs of Sani wipes

These supplies will help keep classrooms clean, promote wellness, and ensure students have the tools they need for daily hygiene and comfort.

The Jamaican American Connection is honored to continue building strong partnerships with schools and community organizations that make a difference in the lives of children and families throughout Greater New Haven. This initiative reflects JAC’s ongoing mission to give back, uplift others, and strengthen the bond between the Jamaican diaspora and the communities we serve.

We extend heartfelt thanks to our members, volunteers, and partners whose generosity and hard work made this day possible. Together, we are making a meaningful difference, one act of service at a time.
